There are many cool kid’s brands out there. Companies create fantastic products that bring joy to little people’s lives everywhere.
But, what about the less fortunate?
Poverty and life-limiting illnesses have a huge impact on the lives of so many children. We set up Lino & Luka to create great stories, and to extend a little helping hand to children battling against life’s adversities.
When we heard about the amazing work that The Childhood Trust does to support vulnerable children living in poverty in London, we knew that we had to support them.
We made contact with the team and travelled to London to meet Christina Tsermentseli on the 31st of August 2017 to donate some Lino & Luka books.
Christina told us more about their work, which is focused on alleviating the impact of child poverty in London. This is about more than income; for many children poverty can mean uncertainty, stress, hunger, loneliness, boredom, poor health and a lack of opportunities. The most disadvantaged children fall at least two years behind their peers when they come to sit their GCSEs.
Education provides one of the strongest routes out of poverty.
We hope that the donation of Lino & Luka books can help to support to literacy of disadvantaged children across London in future.
